
Delivered in partnership with Berrybank Development Pty Ltd, the Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants Program provides funding opportunities to support local events and projects in Golden Plains.
Community and business groups/organisations are eligible to apply for grant funding in two categories.
- Tourism projects
- Economic Development projects
If the applicant is a community group, the applicant must apply for funding over $10,000. Multiple year applications are permissible for both categories, up to three years.
There will be a minimum of one round of application opportunities each year and funding will be made available over the next 15 years in cooperation with Berrybank Development Pty Ltd.
Golden Plains Shire Council recognises the critical role grants play in strengthening our community by supporting local community groups and business organisations to deliver worthwhile projects, programs and events to the community.

The recipients of 2023 Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants are:
Shelford Duck Race - $10,100 over the next three years to support Shelford’s largest annual community event.
Bunjil Lookout Community Gathering - $13,800 over the next three years for the Maude, She Oaks and Steiglitz Community Planning Group to support the community event following a successful pilot event in 2022.
Shelford Public Hall Rejuvenation Project - $49,700 over the next two years for the Shelford Public Hall Reserve Committee of Management to support rejuvenation of this valuable community asset.
Valentines Bush Dance and Winter Solstice Bonfire - $15,850 over the next three years for Cape Clear Recreation Reserve to help run these annual events.
Greens Lighting Upgrade - $15,700 for Inverleigh Bowls Club to support an upgrade to LED lighting and improve visibility over the playing surface.
Spectator Shelter - $10,000 for the Inverleigh Sporting Complex to support its spectator shelter project.
The recipients of 2022 Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants are:
The Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants Committee is pleased to provide $10,000 in funding to the Cressy & District History Group for a public art project. As part of the project, the group will engage an experienced and reputable artist to paint a mural on the Cressy Water Tower. A significant landmark in Cressy, the mural will tell the history of Cressy and aims to empower the small rural communities of the southwestern region of Victoria which encompasses the Golden Plains, Corangamite and Colac Otway Shires. Such a project will promote the economic, social and cultural development of this region creating long term sustainable benefits.
The Geelong Landcare Network Inc will purchase a portable Public Address speaker box that can be used during field days and inside halls during public events. The Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants committee is pleased to support this project with $1,540 of funding.
Golden Plains Arts Inc have been successful in their application to host the annual GP Arts Inc. Arts Trail with funding to support the program for three years.
The Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants committee is pleased to support the annual event with total funding of $26,772.64 to be phased with $15,402.64 in year one and $5,685 in years two and three.
The funding will go towards the costs of purchasing equipment, supplies, materials and signage to support the program across the Shire.
The Teesdale Community Events group are planning for an annual Twilight Market & Carols to bring the local community together and provide for a social interaction. The event will be run annually with the first to be held on Friday 16 December from 4pm. This event will bring local residents together for a special Christmas celebration
The Berrybank Wind Farm Community Grants committee are pleased to support the annual event with total funding of $13,200 to be phased with $5,500 in year one and $3,850 in years two and three. The funding will go towards the costs of entertainment, equipment hire, supplies, materials, signage and advertising.
