An Edible Gardens – Sustainability & Self-Sufficiency Workshop will be held on Sunday 22 June from 10.30am to 12:30pm at the Dereel Community Hall, all about General pruning/grafting.
Pruning involves trimming dead, damaged, or overgrown branches to encourage healthy growth, improve airflow, and shape the plant. It also helps increase fruit and flower production. Grafting is the process of joining two different plant parts—usually a rootstock and a scion—to grow together as a single plant. This can enhance the plant’s disease resistance, improve fruit quality, and allow for the cultivation of multiple varieties on one tree. Both techniques are valuable for maintaining healthy, productive plants.
