The Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) will hold two free candidate information sessions in Golden Plains Shire for those considering nominating as a candidate.
Attendance is optional however it is recommended that prospective candidates attend one of the following sessions:
- Bannockburn: 4 September from 6pm in the Council Chamber at the Golden Plains Civic Centre, 2 Pope Street Bannockburn
- Smythesdale: 5 September from 12:30pm in the Multipurpose Room at the Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale
Interested candidates are encouraged to attend one of these sessions. There is no pre-registration required as attendance will be taken on the day.
Prospective candidates will also need to complete the Local Government Victoria Mandatory Candidate Training, which is compulsory for all Victorian’s who wish to nominate as a candidate in any council elections.
In addition, the Municipal Association of Victoria will host several information sessions for the community and prospective candidates (both online and in person.
