Golden Plains Shire Council’s 2024/25 road grading calendar is now available on Council’s online events calendar.

Council’s annual Road Grading Program allows for grading of Council’s unsealed road network in the Shire throughout the year. Council has committed to grading every unsealed road in the Shire’s 705km unsealed Council road network at least once a year through its Unsealed Road Grading Maintenance Charter.

Residents can visit goldenplains.vic.gov.au/events to see when Council’s graders will be in which areas of the Shire to easily track when maintenance will be done on unsealed roads. Residents can either put their town in the search box or click the calendar link to view all listings. Instructions on how to search for road grading listings is available at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/roads.

Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said the 2024/25 road grading schedule ensured the ongoing maintenance of the Shire’s unsealed road network.

“Having road grading information readily available on Council’s website gives residents an avenue to seek the answer to a very common question ‘when will my road be graded?’,” Cr Cunningham said.

“Ongoing road maintenance is one of the most important activities in Golden Plains Shire, and we want to take every opportunity to keep people informed on road maintenance activities across the Shire. The website is a great tool to find the information you need, and our Customer Experience team is also available to answer any questions about the Road Grading program.”

Residents can access detailed information about roads on Council’s website including the road hierarchy, the Unsealed Road Grading Maintenance Charter, road grading program and schedule, plus a number of fact sheets and guidelines on how to report a road issue. This information is available at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/roads.

Residents who wish to report a road maintenance issue are encouraged to contact Council’s Customer Experience team on 5220 7111 or submit a request through Council’s online Customer Experience Portal at goldenplains.vic.gov.au/forms/portal.
