Golden Plains Shire Council has awarded Community Strengthening Grants to 12 Golden Plains community projects in the 2024 program.

Council has awarded a total of $75,000 in grant funding to successful groups to deliver 12 projects across four streams: Environment and Sustainability, Healthy Active Living, Community Safety, and Creative Community.

In this round, grants are allocated to organisations across Golden Plains Shire, and support projects including lighting upgrades, health and fitness activities for over-50's, Bannockburn Community Christmas Carols, reactivation of the Bruce’s Creek Landcare Group and much more.

Council’s Community Strengthening Grants are a valuable source of financial support for local events, projects and programs in Golden Plains Shire.

Golden Plains Shire Council CEO Shane Walden said it is fantastic to see so many wonderful projects supported by the grant funding.

Council’s Community Strengthening Grants Program is an important initiative that is highly valued. Over the past 27 years it has enabled the delivery of a variety of excellent projects for the Golden Plains Shire community,” Mr Walden said.
