
Golden Plains Shire Council, in partnership with the Geelong Regional Library Corporation, is seeking Expressions of Interest from six skilled and innovative creative practitioners to lead art workshops at Bannockburn Library, starting January 2025 and running throughout the year.
The Take Part: Local Art Series builds on the successful 2023-2024 pilot program, which featured six engaging 2 hour workshops led by talented local artists within the Bannockburn Library.
Criteria for Applicants:
Formal art qualifications are not mandatory; however, applicants must demonstrate relevant experience with transferable skills to engage a general audience. Preferences are given to those who:
- Bring innovative practices or offer new experiences to the community (new materials, techniques or mediums).
- Design workshops suitable for library spaces (e.g. no spray paints or hazardous materials).
- Limit workshops to 10-12 people to ensure hands-on experience.
- Have previous experience in workshop facilitation.
Important Dates and Submission Details:
Expressions of Interest are open from Monday 18 November to 5pm, Friday 29 November 2024.
Submit your Expression of Interest to Council's Arts and Culture Advisor by emailing [email protected]. Your submission should include:
- A brief proposal of your workshop.
- A biography of yourself and your art practice.
- Preference dates for your workshops throughout 2025.
Successful applicants will also be required to provide a Working with Children’s Check and Public Liability Insurance.
