Golden Plains Shire Council adopted the Asset Management Strategy 2024-29 (the Strategy) and Asset Management Policy (the Policy) at its meeting on Tuesday 25 June 2024.

The Strategy and Policy were placed on a period of public exhibition following the 19 March 2024 Council meeting. Submissions received comprised of minor feedback which has been considered and addressed within the Strategy and Policy.

The adopted Policy enables Council to implement a coordinated approach to the management of all assets essential to Council’s strategic and operational goals, and defines a broad framework and principles for the sustainable and effective lifecycle management of all asset groups.

The adopted Strategy outlines a coordinated approach to managing all assets crucial to Council’s strategic and operations objectives. It establishes a comprehensive framework and principles for the sustainable and efficient lifecycle management of all asset groups for current and future generations in Golden Plains.

Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham said the adoption of the Strategy and the Policy ensures Council will continue to improve its asset management.

The adopted Strategy and Policy were updated in an effort to responsibly manage assets in a sustainable manner to align with Council’s growing asset management needs,” Cr Cunningham said.

Thank you to the community members who provided their feedback on the Strategy and Policy during the public exhibition period. The adopted Strategy and Policy will enable Council to implement a coordinated approach to the management of all assets essential to Council’s strategic and operational goals,” he said.

These valuable documents will provide the framework, principles and strategic actions to help shape Council’s decision making and planning for both current and future generations.
