Bannockburn Community Coordinators launched the Bannockburn Community Plan 2023-2027 at a special event hosted by the Bannockburn Library on Saturday 3 August.
Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham joined almost 20 people at the launch and spoke about the importance of Community Planning and how the Bannockburn Community Plan would benefit priority projects for the local area.
Community Planning empowers local residents to create a shared vision for their local community and build on the connection between communities and local government. Bannockburn Community Coordinators developed their plan through this program, with support from mentors Non Profit Training (NPT).
The Plan's priority projects include:
- Creating welcoming entrances to Bannockburn.
- Establishing a community newsletter.
- Planting more trees and gardens.
- And advocacy initiatives for improved local shopping, safer pedestrian crossings and increased access to public transport.
The next stage of planning focuses on delivering the priority projects through continued advocacy and activities over the coming years. If you are a local resident and are interested in supporting a priority project in the Plan, email [email protected].
