Bannockburn

To celebrate Children’s Week 2024, Golden Plains Shire Council will host a free event for children and their families on Monday 21 October from 10am to 12pm at the Bannockburn Library and Cultural Centre, 25-27 High Street, Bannockburn.

Activities will include face painting, crafts, Library story time, roving performers, gymnastics, dance and more.

Golden Plains Shire Council CEO Shane Walden invites families and children from across the Shire to take the opportunity to participate in the free family-friendly activities.

There is a fantastic variety of activities for children of all ages to enjoy and we encourage everyone to come along and get involved, Mr Walden said.

Children’s Week is a wonderful celebration that highlights the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children and Council’s Children’s Week event aims to provide children from across the Shire the opportunity to connect, share and engage in activities that support their wellbeing and healthy development, he said.

Children’s Week is a national event held every October, giving families and community members the opportunity to recognize the talents, skills, achievements and rights of children.

This year, Children’s Week runs from Saturday 19 October to Sunday 27 October. The theme for Children’s Week 2024 is ‘Children have the right to a clean and safe environment.’
