Fun Autumn Holiday Activities for Young People

Council is hosting a series of free activities for young people aged 12 to 25 years throughout the upcoming Autumn School Holidays, with fantastic activities running from Monday 7 April to Thursday 17 April 2025. 

The free Autumn holiday activities held across the Shire have been designed to support the needs and interests of young people, while also providing opportunities to learn new skills and connect with other young people.

The full list of holiday activities available are:

Week one:

  • Monday 7 April, 9.30am to 5pm – Level 2 First Aid at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
  • Tuesday 8 April, 1 to 4pm – VR Gaming Comp at The Well, 19 Heales Street, Smythesdale.
  • Thursday 10 April, 1 to 4pm – VR Gaming Comp at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn.
  • Friday 11 April, 10am to 12pm – BMX/Scooter Workshop at the Bannockburn Skate Park, Pope Street, Bannockburn.

Week two:

  • Monday 14 April, 12 to 2pm – Paintball at World Series Paintball, Little River.
  • Tuesday 15 April, 11am to 1pm – BMX/Scooter Workshop at the Smythesdale Skate Park, Heales Street, Smythesdale.
  • Wednesday 16 April, 12 to 2pm – Aradale Day Tour at the Aradale Lunatic Asylum, 91 High Street, Ararat.
  • Thursday 17 April, 10am to 12pm – BMX/Scooter Workshop at the Inverleigh Active Youth Space, East Street, Inverleigh.
  • Thursday 17 April, 9am to 4pm – White Card Training at the Golden Plains Youth Hub, Milton Street, Bannockburn.

Golden Plains Shire Council Mayor Cr Sarah Hayden said there was a great range of activities available for young people during the Autumn Holiday Program.

“Council has organised a range of activities designed to keep young people engaged with their peers while having fun,” Cr Hayden said.

Tickets for the upcoming Autumn Holiday Program will be available from 7pm on Thursday 13 March 2025.
