
Golden Plains Shire Council has confirmed that former Chief Executive Officer Shane Walden has departed the organisation, following his recent resignation.
Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Sarah Hayden acknowledged Mr Walden’s contributions, thanking him for his leadership and contribution to the organisation and community.
“On behalf of Council, we extend our sincere gratitude to Shane for his contributions during his time with us. Shane has provided valuable leadership and service to Golden Plains Shire. Throughout his tenure, Shane and I have shared a respectful and professional relationship, working closely together on numerous projects and initiatives. I have always appreciated his leadership and strategic thinking in guiding the organisation, always with the interests of staff and community in mind. Shane’s departure is on positive terms and on behalf of Council I wish Shane every success in the future,” Cr Hayden said.
Mr Walden also expressed his appreciation for his time at Golden Plains Shire Council.
“It has been a privilege to serve the Council, community, and staff as CEO of the Golden Plains Shire Council. I am proud of the work we have accomplished together. I am appreciative of the support and collegiate working relationship initially with past Mayor, Councillor Brett Cunningham and now with Mayor Sarah Hayden. I wish Mayor Hayden every success representing the community and leading the Council. For me, the past six months have been rewarding, and I look forward to new opportunities,” Shane said.
Phil Josipovic, Director Infrastructure and Environment will act as Chief Executive Officer for the next 28 days.
