Council is reaching out to young people and youth focused stakeholders across the Shire to gather valuable insights that will inform the development of youth programs and activities within the community.
Council’s Youth Development Team has prepared surveys (for young people aged 12 to 25 and youth-focused stakeholders) aimed at identifying the prominent needs, aspirations and issues young people face in our community. This initiative aims to ensure local youth have a voice in creating programs that meet their needs and interests.
Golden Plains Shire CEO Shane Walden said gathering the thoughts and ideas of young people and youth focused community stakeholders ensured they had a say in shaping youth services.
“We really encourage young people to take the time to complete these surveys which will give Council a clear indication of what they want delivered in our youth programs and youth services,” Mr Walden said.
“Council is proud to deliver a range of services and activities that assist young people to develop their social skills and leadership abilities while also providing activities that stimulate learning and physical activity,” he said.
“Attracting funding is critical to Council’s successful youth service delivery and we are keen to hear from as many young people and community stakeholders as possible. Your thoughts, ideas and opinions will help shape youth programs and services in Golden Plains Shire.”
