Golden Plains Shire Council is excited to announce that it is now accepting Expressions of Interest (EOI) for artists wishing to exhibit artworks at Golden Spaces.

Golden Spaces is a free community-based program offering group art exhibitions across three locations: The Bannockburn Cultural Centre, The Well at Smythesdale and the Golden Plains Civic Centre. This initiative aims to celebrate and promote local artists, providing the community with greater access to the arts in a local setting, and offering professional development opportunities for both emerging and established artists within our Shire.

Golden Spaces was officially launched at an event on 1 June at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, featuring the first Winter Exhibit.

There will be two opportunities to apply to exhibit at Golden Spaces throughout the calendar year, with EOI’s for the first Summer Exhibit open now for local artists and creative practitioners.

Golden Plains Shire Mayor Cr Brett Cunningham encourages all local artist to submit their EOI to exhibit at Golden Spaces.

Golden Spaces is a vibrant hub where the creativity of our artistic community can shine and their stories come to life,” Cr Cunningham said.

I urge local artists and creative practitioners to seize this opportunity to be part of a professional exhibit that engages both locals and visitors.

EOI’s are open from Monday 3 June to 5pm, Friday 30 August 2024. To submit an EOI, visit goldenplains.vic.gov.au/golden-spaces

At the conclusion of the EOI period, successful artists will be notified in October 2024, and the Summer Exhibit will be launched at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre on Thursday 19 December 2024. The exhibition will be on display for 12 months rotating between the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, The Well at Smythesdale and the Golden Plains Civic Centre.

The Golden Spaces Winter Exhibit is currently on display at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, featuring artworks of 24 local artists. Keep an eye on Council’s website and social media channels to find out when the Exhibit will move to its next location.
