Golden Plains Shire Council recently installed a new bus shelter on the intersection of Willis Court and Henlin Park Road in Smythesdale.

Following a request from a local resident to install the bus shelter for the school children, Council worked with the Department of Transport and the school bus company to collectively determine the best location.

Construction works for the shelter included the formation of a raised platform with crushed rock, a concrete slab to support the shelter, a standing surface for the children and installation of a drainage pipe. The $8,980 project was funded by the Department of Transport.
