General

Ballot packs for the upcoming local council election will begin arriving in the letterboxes of enrolled voters from today.

Administered by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC), the upcoming election will be conducted via postal vote.  All completed ballot packs must be returned by post, or hand delivered to the VEC Electoral Office at the Bannockburn Cultural Centre, 27 High Street Bannockburn, no later than 6pm on Friday 25 October.

Ballot packs will contain the following:

  • A ballot paper
  • Candidate statements
  • A ballot paper envelope (for votes to go in)
  • A reply-paid envelope (for the ballot paper envelope to go in)

Enrolled voters must follow the instructions in the ballot pack and complete the ballot paper correctly for their vote to count.

If ballot packs are not received by Tuesday 15 October, voters are encouraged to visit vec.vic.gov.au to fill out an online replacement form, call the VEC on 131 832 or visit the VEC Electoral Office referred to above to request a replacement ballot pack.

Voting is compulsory for all individuals enrolled by 4pm on Wednesday 7 August.

Failure to vote without a valid excuse may result in a fine from the VEC.
